The construction of the temple began in 1879, but the work was not continued at that time. Later, devoted community members including Sri Bondada Madanna, Sri Bondada Vishwanatham, Sri Kashi Paidayya, Maha Shilpi Valluri Ramappa, Sri Gangulagurthi Ramalingam, Sri Nallabati Bucchanna, Sri Kattoju Narasanna, and Sri Thalabathula Paidilingam took responsibility for completing the temple with funds from devotees, and the temple was completed after 27 years.
A formal temple management committee was established in 1969. Between 1969 and 1980, the temple administration was guided by Sri Kosuru Suryanarayana, Tamiri Varahala Acharyulu, Thalabathula Krishnamacharyulu, Manepalli Adimurthy, Nagumalli Paidiraju, Ryali Chittibabu, and Pattanala Venkatarao.
In 1980, a new committee was formed under Sri Nagumalli Srihari Rao as President and Mandarapu Ramachari as Vice President, strengthening the temple’s administration and development. After the demise of Sri Nagumalli Srihari Rao in 2004, his fifth son Sri Nagumalli Srinivasarao served as In-Charge Chairman until 2007, followed by Sri Kuppili Nageswara Rao, who served as Chairman from 2007 to 2015.
From 2015 to May 2025, Sri Appalabathula Somaraju served as Chairman and led the temple’s major reconstruction. During this period, Sri Nagumalli Veerabhadra Rao (eldest son of Sri Srihari Rao) played a key role in fundraising, personally collecting ₹35 lakhs, with an additional ₹70 lakhs raised through community contributions, while the renovation work was carried out under the leadership of Sri Nagumalli Srinivasarao.
The temple reflects traditional South Indian temple architecture with beautifully designed structures and sacred sculptures. The temple entrance and surrounding structures showcase devotional artistry, while the sanctum area provides a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere for devotees to offer prayers and perform rituals.
The temple premises are maintained carefully to preserve its sacred environment and heritage.
